World Travelers

I know (directly or indirectly) a few young people that are traveling right now.

My brother, Joe, went to London on Friday the 27th. He is doing a semester abroad at the University of London. He will also be taking mini-trips to other areas of Europe. He's already put some of his pics on facebook. Here's one of them. Not a very flattering angle, but he is still handsome in it. I think he wanted to show Big Ben.

My cousin, Abby, left on Thursday the 26th to go on a missions trip to Honduras. She is 16 (or will be soon). She went with her church and I am so excited for this opportunity for her. I believe that she will see and experience things that will change her forever. She is back now, and I can't wait to hear about her trip.

And the grandson of Wilda Owens, a very sweet lady at our church, left on Thursday as well. He has gone to Kenya for a missions trip. If he is anything like his grandmother he is a faithful servant of our Lord.

David Panuska and John Nickerson are in Afghanistan and Iraq. Please pray for these brave men, too.

If you think it, please think of these travelers and join me in praying for them. For their health in foreign countries, for the goals while they are gone, and for their safe return.

Tubin' The 'Hooch

Yesterday we have a really fun family trip. My Aunt Nell and her boyfriend "Uncle Dean" came down from Michigan to visit for a week! They met at church years ago but began dating about 6 months ago and are so cute! Dean is a Ford engineer and he is fixing all of cars while he is here- isn't that sweet? Anyways, back to my point.

We got a babysitter for Eli (Charles' cousin Erichka and her girls) and we switched nursery duty at church (thank you David and Lan!) and right after the early service at The Bridge church we caravaned (get it- we have a Dodge Grand Caravan) up to Helen, GA ya'll!

It was really fun to be able for Charles and I to do something with just us and Andrew. The river was low and at some points we were walking through shallow waters more than tubing. Charles especially. But I must say that he kept a great attitude and we got pretty good at figuring how to keep his tube level- he would put his feet on my tube to help distribute his weight.



Andrew had a blast facing "the rapids" (as he said many times). He was also REALLY excited to get water shoes. My parents and brother, Ben, also came. I still haven't figured out how to do slides and if you don't care if I put individual pictures, I don't either! hahaha

Other than the gas up there, it is an inexpensive and fun day! Have you guys been tubing?

Half a Year!!

Eli was 6 months this past Saturday. Wow how time has flied!!

He has been teething for what seems like months. Well, the drool has been for months. The painful night fits and not-so-good sleeping has been for the last couple of weeks. The fruit of his labor poked through Sunday morning. Two little white nubs were greeting us in the morning! Yay!

I don't know if it is because the brunt of the teething has passed, but this little guy slept 10 and a half hours Sunday night. Who cared why?! I was loving the extra time!

Of course you can't see his little teeth in these pics, but here they are anyways. When the flash is on he sees the "pre flash" red light and gets confused. So the darker one is without the flash and is a little more natural!

Rock Candy- Day 1

Andrew is doing an experiment with sugar crystals. We are making rock candy and we'd like to share the progress with you. Here is a picture of day 1 and the website from which we got the recipe.

Rope Swing- what fun!

Our buddy Roberto that I (Maggie) work with at 404-CUT-TREE was kind enough to come over and hang this rope for us. We can't climb that high! We got a disc swing and we were in business. All the neighborhood kids love it. Charles used a pole saw (a mini chainsaw on the end of a pole) to get rid of some branches that were keeping the kids from swinging higher. This is so much fun!
